Speaking With Godly Intention
In Daniel Chapter 4, the prophet must interpret a dream with a difficult message for King Nebuchadnezzar. Difficult messages are challenging for all people involved. Specifically, Daniel had great compassion for Nebuchadnezzar and did not want him to suffer as the dream indicated he would. The King was challenged to see the pride and sinfulness in his own life coupled with a disturbing future. And yet, despite the difficulty, Daniel still shared God’s message for the King. He even encouraged Nebuchadnezzar to repent. This presents an amazing example for the modern servants of God. There are times we must confront sin, share the gospel, discuss a painful relationship, or try to help someone who has fallen from their faith. Like Daniel, we need to embrace the privilege to carry God’s Word and do so with great compassion.
